Patrón and New York City: a Classic Pairing
Oct. 21, 2016
New York City is home to some of the best food on Earth, so it’s no surprise it was selected as the latest destination for Patrón’s Secret Dining Society. The dinner took place at the SC Culinary Suite, an intimate, 3,000-square-foot ninth-floor private loft in the heart of SoHo that’s run by chef and Food Network star Scott Conant.
The evening kicked off with two signature Patrón cocktails from mixologist Jason Littrell. “I wanted to create natural, composed pairings between the cocktails and Scott’s food,” Littrell says. Littrell’s approach? “Keep it simple and let the smooth tequila do the work.”
Meanwhile, Conant developed a three-course seasonal menu that began with Peconic Bay scallop crudo, which nicely complemented the Roca Royale cocktail, followed by a prime sirloin of beef that paired with a cocktail made from Patrón Barrel Select Añejo .
The meal concluded on a decadent note with a heavenly chocolate budino and a specialty cocktail consisting of Patrón XO Cafe Incendio, Amaro Montenegro, mezcal, blackberry cream, and egg white.
Even in New York, a city that sees its share of incredible evenings, this was one for the books.
