A Cocktail Smooth Enough for the Big Easy
Jul. 25, 2016
It’s no secret New Orleans is full of soul. So when it came to a feature cocktail for the Secret Dining Society event in the Big Easy, we decided to jazz up an “old” classic. This smooth combination of smoky Roca Patrón and chocolaty Patrón XO Cafe Dark Cocoa hits the mark, and, like the city itself, is rich in decadence.

Cacao Old Fashioned
- 2 oz Roca Patrón (Reposado or Añejo)
- .25 oz Patrón XO Cafe Dark Cocoa
- 1 dash bitters
- Ice
- Orange peel, for garnish
In a mixing glass, combine all the liquid ingredients and stir with ice to chill. Strain over large ice cubes in a double old fashioned glass and garnish with the expressed zest of an orange peel. Then serve.
