Meet Your 2017 Patrón Perfectionist
Introducing Dancing Bees, the cocktail from Hong Kong’s winner, Li Tong, that won it all to become the 2017 Patrón Perfectionist.
Jan. 31, 2018
It all started with over 1,200 inventive happy hour recipes submitted to national competitions around the world that turned into seventeen global winners who knew a thing or two about perfection. Eight months of bringing the bartending heat later, only one perfect cocktail prevailed, taking the title of The 2017 Patrón Perfectionist.
Li Tong took the Hong Kong competition by storm, beating five worthy competitors to win big locally and take her skills across the world. Her cocktail, Dancing Bees, won the judges’ hearts at The 2017 Patrón Perfectionists Global Final, held at Hacienda Patrón in Jalisco, Mexico. The bright flavors of passion fruit syrup and crisp lime juice came together perfectly with the lightly floral yet punchy notes of the chamomile and yuzu shrub. Shaken up with subtly sweet and gently aged Patrón Reposado, this simple cocktail shined amongst the six other finalists chosen from the seventeen international winners.
Inspired by the sweet flavors of summers at home and the heritage of Patrón, Li Tong brought her A-game to the Global Final where she turned Dancing Bees into a crowd-pleasing performance, resulting in the world’s perfect cocktail. Congrats Li!
