Southern Drawls, Silver Wings and a Taste of Charlotte

Take to the streets of Charlotte to get a taste of what the city is all about this summer, including small bites with big flavors and the Patrón the Summer Cocktail Tour serving Silver Wings, a twist on the town’s signature drink. We’ve gathered data from Foursquare, Cocktail Lab and social media to determine how locals like to fly when it comes to cocktails and remixed them with tequila to create the perfect summer serve.

The Aviation has been a long-standing local favorite and will reach new heights once the light & refreshing flavor of Patrón Silver replaces the drink’s usual spirit, gin. Maraschino liqueur and Crème de Violette still make an appearance in Silver Wings, and we’ve swapped the lemon juice for lime juice to keep trending citrus flavors in the mix of this otherwise traditionally southern cocktail.

The annual 3-day street festival June 9 -11 brings live music, cooking demos, stylish local vendors and every food genre imaginable together. And this year is even better since Patrón is joining the fun with of sweet and cooling summer drinks, including the signature Silver Wings. The southern charm of sipping refreshing cocktails and watching street performances will make this a more than memorable summer event.
