Take Flight with the Escuadrón
Jun. 24, 2016
Certain libations have a richer history than others, and this variation of the classic Aviation cocktail takes that to a whole new level (literally!). Commemorating the 201st fighter squadron (also known as the Aztec Eagles), it pays homage to the part of the Mexican Expeditionary Air Force that aided the Allied forces in liberating the Philippines in 1945 during World War II.
The Escuadrón
- 2 oz Patrón Añejo
- .5 oz Crème Yvette
- .5 oz Orange Curacao
- .5 oz fresh lemon juice
- Orange twist, for garnish
In a shaker filled with ice, combine the Patrón Añejo, Crème Yvette, curaçao and lemon juice, and shake well. Strain into a coup, lightly flame a twist of orange peel for garnish and serve.
