Does tequila have coloring?

Tequila color can be standardized by other ingredients approved by the Tequila Official Standard such as Caramel coloring, Glycerin and sugar-based syrups. The final number of additives must be under 1% of the total liquid volume/weight.

Patrón Tequila uses only the essentials to create a smooth product that makes you do a double take. Patrón Tequila does not add coloring, including those that NOM approves. For Patrón Tequila, the color is naturally extracted from the barrel aging process.
