Get (Gotham) Green with Herb Envy

The Gotham Greens team has disrupted the lettuce world with its innovative approach to growing produce in unique places, like rooftop greenhouses in Brooklyn and Chicago. 

With the city skyline as their backdrop, these urban farmers have perfected the art of herb growing, providing a year-round, local supply of high-quality leafy greens. And they’ve developed a Spidey sense, of sorts, about how to use their products in the coolest possible ways. 

For instance, Gotham Greens marketing manager Nicole Baum loves using Genovese basil in cocktails, like in the Basil Lime Margarita. The sharp elements of the herb pair well with the green and grassy agave notes found in spirits like Patrón Tequila.

“When you’re using a premium tequila like Patrón,” bartender Laura Newman says, “you want to make sure to use premium ingredients.”
